Eggnog is a cocktail very well known all over the world. It is most common to drink it for the Holidays.
It is creamy, full of spices and warm during the cold days. This recipe is made by Jamie Oliver and it is one of the best we’ve ever tried.
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 5 eggs (separate egg yolk and whites)
- 130 g granulated sugar
- 175 ml rum
In a saucepan, put milk, cream, cinnamon, vanilla bean and grated nutmeg. Let it boil. When boiled, remove from the heat.
In a large bowl beat egg yolks and sugar until combined. Add in the milk and continue to mix until the mixture is combined and smooth. Add bourbon or rum, and stir. Refrigerate overnight. This way you can keep the cocktail refrigerated for up to 3 days.
Before serving, beat the egg whites so that they create a snow like texture. Add in the eggnog and gently mix with the spoon till the mixture becomes combined.
