Carob is known to be a perfect alternative to chocolate, in fact it is much healthier than chocolate so it is a common ingredient of numerous confetionaries. It is featured by a mild sweetness and exceptionally strong aroma though it could be placed among one of the most misunderstood foods. Anyone who avoids chocolate for some reason should try carob.
We bring you a recipe for a delicious and healthy no bake carob cake.
Soak dry fruits in water for 20 minutes and blend together. Mix walnuts, dried fruit mix and other ingredients in a bowl. Press this mixture into molds using your hands.
- ½ cup of walnuts
- ½ cup of dried fruits (raisins, figs and similar)
- ¼ cup of carob powder
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- a pinch of salt
Decorate this dessert by sprinkling the chopped walnuts over the top.
