Green coffee beans have become a huge hit when it comes to weight loss aids. These are actually unroasted coffee beans, and roasted coffee, as you probably already know, is many people’s indispensable morning ritual. Unroasted coffee contains high chlorogenic acid (CGA) levels which have remarkable properties since it slows down the excretion of glucose in the blood after a meal, thereby enabling weight loss, simply because sugar (glucose) is not being stored in the body. Some studies have shown that CGA compound helps burn fat even without exercise. On the other hand, CGA is lost in the coffee bean roasting process.
Six overweight people have been subjected to a 12-week treatment that involved taking around 750 to 1050 mg of green coffee beans extract. The results showed the examinees had lost an average of 10 % of body weight and 4.4 % of body fat.
The other conducted research included a group of 100 overweight women. One group had been receiving coffee bean extract pills of 400 mg three times a day while the other group had been receiving a placebo. Two weeks later, women who took the pills lost 1 kilo on average. It is important to note that both groups did not change their eating habits during the experiment.
In any case, green coffee enhances concentration which reflects on improved reasoning power and learning abilities. Also, CGA is a very powerful antioxidant and thanks to its ability to inhibit gluconeogenesis, it serves as a potent tool for combating diabetes. All strong antioxidants have strong anti-cancer properties and green coffee is no exception.
On the top of all, green coffee is not at all harmful for our health, after all, it is that magic beverage we drink each day we talk about except its pure form yields much more health benefits.
