Our body is composed of about 75% of water, hence, it is clear how important it is to drink water for our health. Nearly all bodily functions are water-dependant. It is the one element required for breathing, digestion, body temperature regulation, etc. Burdened by stress and hurried way of life we would rather start our day with a cup of coffee, significantly increasing our coffee intake by the end of the day, than with water. But as for water, it is somehow normal we drink it cold. However, according to the ancient Indian medicine, known as “Ayurveda”, we do it all wrong. Ayurveda, in particular, emphasizes the importance of drinking a cup of warm water on an empty stomach since it stimulates digestion and exertion of toxins. It improves weight loss, but also prevents premature ageing. Studies focused on this matter gave evidence in support of this claim. Therefore, it is true that a glass of warm water in the morning will “rinse” away the harmful substances from the body and almost immediately make you visit the place where even a king goes alone. You can take one glass of warm water after a meal too, because then water will increase the volume of eaten food, i.e. easing its way through digestion tract. Many scientists stress, just like Indian medicine, that this is actually a miraculous medicine which alleviates pain, whether menstrual or a headache. The warmth of water helps to relax stomach mussels, thus eliminating the cramps almost completely. If you are trying to loose a few pounds, then maybe you’ve already heard of this trick, and the explanation is fairly simple. Soon after you’ve had your glass of warm water, your body temperature will be raised, in effect speeding up your basal metabolism and leading to a greater calorie consumption.
First wrinkles and early signs of ageing are a woman’s worst nightmare, but introducing a glass of warm water into our daily routine may be of great help. Warm water will help you to preserve the elasticity of your skin and remove all toxins that could affect your beauty.
Having raised your awareness about the importance of water, remember to “shower” your body “inside” the same way you do it for the external part of the body. We are all familiar with that nice overwhelming feeling of freshness after having taken a shower and nobody would, I believe, think of taking a shower in a juice for instance. For the same reason, water, i.e. warm water, is an optimal solution for the health benefit of our body. Surely you’ll feel much better.
