What matters is that you have fun while decorating Christmas tree. Still, a tip or two more can never hurt so read our suggestions and make the most beautiful Christmas tree you’ve done.
The history behind Christmas tree
The history of decorating Christmas tree dates back to a long time ago. It is believed it commenced in the 18th century in Germany. One of the legends even explains the reason of decorating precisely a tree. Accordingly, an English preacher while preaching the Gospel in Germany used a special white fir tree, triangle-shaped which symbolized the Holy Trinity. For this reason, many hold that custom yielded soon to become a tradition of decorating Christmas tree.
Europe has met with other related traditions too. One included a performance on the Heaven and scenography featured a tree with apples that symbolized the knowledge of good and evil. Soon after, other decorations appeared on trees such as cones, balls, fruit and similar. Also, branches would be decorated with cotton balls to make it look like it’s been covered with snow.
Ideas for Christmas tree
This year white tree decorations are the absolute hit. The white color will fit into any interior and it is always easy to compliment it with other colors. If you don’t have white decorations but wish to give a new look to your tree, buy fake snow in a spray and spray on the branches. For those who are ready to go a step further, we suggest buying a white or silver tree and enrich it with breathtaking decorations. Modern Christmas is guaranteed!
#2 Traditional tree
Traditional people like colorful decorations which remind them of childhood. Colorful decorations also symbolize happiness and joy. This year you can use your imagination and make some of them yourself. There are plenty ideas on the web and for many people, the process of making decorations is even more important than decorations themselves. So, don’t worry if they don’t look like the ones in a store, it’s Christmas time. Use cones, walnuts, cookies, whatever makes you and your loved (especially the youngest) ones happy.
#3 Color combinations
Red decorations on a green tree create a warm atmosphere, hence that’s always a good idea. Blue and purple shades go best with silver and white, but to reach harmony of the colors it would be better not to match these with golden.
#4 His & her tree
Another quite interesting hit this year are two trees which can be situated in two places of your home – one by a fireplace, for instance, one at the entrance door and similar. One should be decorated by her and the other by him, all that matters is they both should reflect you.
Put whatever you like on the top of these trees, bow tie for instance or the classic – angel or a tree-topper. Lights are a must and remember – Christmas tree is probably one of the few items that can never be too much decorated or too bright!
