Let’s not fool ourselves, we’ve all wished for voluptuous, movie star lips the likes of Angelina Jolie or Jessica Alba at least once in our lives, and now we can make use of a number of cool tricks to achieve just that. The only thing we need to think of is not pushing it with the make-up because the end result will be an unnatural, somewhat fake look.
Use a toothbrush to exfoliate lips. First remove the dead skin and stimulate blood flow by applying a mixture of sugar, honey, lemon juice and olive oil. Rub in a gentle circular motions and leave on for 15 minutes, and then rinse with lukewarm water. Following that, apply lip balm. Your lips will instantly feel soft and plump.
Make sure you moisturize your lips before applying lipstick. By doing that, you’ll prepare your lips for blending using a lip liner pencil.
Apply a little bit of a light concealer to the space above your upper lip, the so-called Cupid’s bow, and use a brush to smudge it so that it follows the upper lip. Why? Because you’ll create a 3D effect, that’s why.
Use a brush to apply a matte bronzer of your choice in the area below the lower lip thus creating a shadow which in turn makes your lower lip appear fuller.
Let’s go back to the upper lip again. Take a lip pencil, slightly darker than your lip color and carefully draw a line above your lip. Do the same with the lower lip. Move from the center and just slightly touch the edge.
It’s OK for the part where the lips meet to be slightly darker so don’t worry if your skills aren’t that of a professional make-up artist. You can always use a lip brush to repair damage.
Now it’s finally time to apply your lipstick. Go for a shade that’s only slightly lighter than the lip pencil you used. If, however, the liner is still very visible, use the brush to fix the situation.
For a finishing touch, take the brush and apply the same light concealer to the lower lip, right in the middle. This is yet another way to add to your pouty lip effect.
And finally, you can also use lip gloss, although if you ask me, no gloss is the way to go.
That’s all for now. Enjoy creating your femme fatale look!
