As the summer nears its end, we begin to realize that our summer vacation, nice and sunny days are over. Kids are back in school again, we are at work pretty much everything is back in the same old rut. Some of us find this very difficult to accept, but you must know that not everything is that gloomy. Yes, the summer is perhaps over, but there is still Indian summer for many of us and a chance to enjoy perhaps as much as you in the middle of the summer.
This time of year is also characterized by cold nights and warm days you can use ideally. Enjoy outdoor activities during day and tuck yourself in front of the TV or enjoy the company of your closest friends in a bar in the evening. Get over the summer blues in several more ways.
Create homage to the summer
Create an homage to the summer, that is, make a part of your home a vivid reminder of the summer. Remember it will return sooner than you think. It’s not the end of the world, only the summer that is near. Preserve fruit and vegetables and make your own chutney. Why shouldn’t you enjoy tomatoes, eggplant, cherries or any other fruit during the whole year? Engage your kids to help you
Go on a trip to get over the summer blues
Prepare yourself for a trip to the country. Enjoy the sun and the change of season. Nature in the country offers breathtaking sights, full of vibrant colors, specific for this time of the year. Use the time that you can to spend outdoors and make some nice memories. This will help you get over the summer blues when you feel the urge to enjoy a few warm days when you are not working.
Remember all the good stuff fall and winter bring along
Don’t be exclusive when it comes to seasons. We all like summer for some reason. But, fall and winter have their charm too, isn’t that so? Just think of the irresistible scent of freshly roasted chestnuts, corn, and the cozy heat you feel when you come home from the cold weather, hot chocolate, and many other things. Don’t you feel better in an instant? Think of the things you would like to enjoy during that time of the year. Make a decision to do everything you wanted to do before but never did for some reason.
It’ll be easier to overcome summer melancholy if you buy a piece of clothes that will immediately make you wish it’s fall. It could be new boots, sweater or a coat. Buy something you really like and you will hardly wait until the first cold days arrive.
Getting back into the same old routine, to work, school, or a faculty, is the biggest shock after the summer. But it’s all part of life. Anytime when you can, do something for yourself in order to “cancel” all the negative effects of the things you need to do but don’t find pleasure in doing. Go for a drink with your friends, to the movies, some trip is also a good idea or make a spa at home. Tell us, what do you like most about the fall season?
