How many times we’ve wished to have long and nourished nails which are actually ours and not fake? But, for many of us, this seems to be an impossible mission. Nails crack, they become brittle and don’t ever seem to be longer than our fingertip. But there are several ways which may help grow your nails in just one month!
Everything begins with a diet. In order to have long and nourished nails, you should eat protein-rich foods. This primarily includes meat, eggs, and dairies of animal origin which contain proteins of high biological value. Nails are composed of a protein known also as keratin. Keratin is actually constituted from the amino acids. And for this reason, foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, oily fish and nuts should be on the top of your choice if you want to promote nail growth. In addition, this type of diet will result in shiny and longer hair but better health in general. Biotin is a vitamin par excellence when it comes to healthy nails and hair.
Squarely rounded nails are the best type of nail shape. This nail shape best absorbs shock, so nails will not get damaged as much as in the case of other nail shapes.
#3 Base coat
Invest in a good base coat. There are numerous base coats available which contain various ingredients for nail strengthening, starting from calcium to diamond dust. They are easy to apply and yield good results. Read carefully use instructions of such products and act accordingly. If you have a bad habit of biting nails, search for specialized nail polish (of unpleasant taste) which will stop you from biting your nails. Furthermore, use nail polish. A coat or two of some nail polish you like will not only make your nails look better, but it will strengthen them and you’ll put in more effort to make them look good.
Never cut nail cuticle. It serves an important purpose since it protects you from infection. Therefore, each time you wash your hands just use a towel to push the cuticle back. In this way, fingernails will look longer and you’ll prevent the risk of infection.
Nails like oil. Rub some oil onto your hands and massage them to improve circulation. You can use olive oil. Several times a week enjoy a hand massage by using a combination of olive oil and some lemon juice. Besides, you can make your own nail polish for strengthening. Use clear nail polish and mix it with a half of garlic. Garlic contains numerous active substances with antimicrobial and antifungal properties, all of which strengthen natural nail structure.
#6 Change in color and structure
If you notice any change in color or structure of the nail, consult with a doctor. Change in color or structure can occur for many reasons – contusion, uncomfortable shoes, fungus. In any case, react in time.
Protect your hands and nails by using rubber gloves when washing the dishes. If you hate using rubber gloves for this or are allergic to them, do not forget to apply a coat of nail polish which will protect your nails. Use non-aggressive cleaning products.
Another thing is good to mention too. Avoid gel manicure for some time. Give your nails some time to recover. The quality of nails depends primarily on diet, but also genetics. Dark nail polish makes your nails look longer so it looks very good on short nails where length is the ultimate goal. Nails grow about two to three millimeters a month and even more in summer or during pregnancy. Only when your nails completely recover can you finally grow them to the wanted length.
