Sometimes to-do list simply overwhelms us, after all, a day lasts only24 hours. Have you ever wondered that you’ll get lost in all the things you should do? How can you still manage to do everything and reduce that pressure which makes us lose sleep.
To-do list has shown to be one of the most effective ways to organize. By making a to-do list for the following day and organizing all your obligations will give you the sense of control which will help you do everything in time. Don’t panic if everything doesn’t go as you’ve planned. All plans need to have a backup plan too and can be moderated.
When we are in the hurry or panicking all we do really – is just panicking. When this happens we should stop and take a deep breath. Taking deep breaths has proven to be a very effective way to relieve stress and clear thoughts. Repeat this 3 times and make a schedule. If this doesn’t help you at the moment, let it go. Your tasks will still wait on you for after half-an-hour when you’ll be able to think more clearly.
Find time just for yourself
This is not a suggestion, but an order. You simply need to find more time for yourself. It doesn’t matter if it is 15 minutes every day or three hours two times a week. Do what you like and what fulfills you. Nobody doesn’t even need to know about your own little ritual. Put this on your schedule too.
Making to-do list also involves setting priorities. The sooner you do tasks by priority it’s more likely that the rest of your day will go much easier.
Being inflexible often brings us into troubles. Imagine you’ll be doing something at a certain point in the future and if it that somehow doesn’t happen, we completely lose our balance. But, if you get just a little more flexible, things change and you’ll be able to do tasks so much easier. So what if some meeting is rescheduled to an hour earlier? This only means you’ll get off work earlier than usual and you can use that time to go for a coffee with a friend.
Learn how to say no
As long as you answer with “yes” to any suggestion or a request addressed to you, you won’t achieve anything. Learn to say “no”. The first time is the worst. Once you manage to do this, you’ll notice how your life has suddenly become so much easier.
Discern the impossible
You’re not all mighty. Sometimes it is simply impossible to do just about everything you’ve planned as you’ve planned. Accept that and set your own limits. Don’t compare with others who seem to do it all. Believe us, they’ll be green with envy when they find out you have time for both – work and relaxation.
