Though I try to be up to date with all the latest trends and findings when it comes to healthy lifestyle, beauty, and fitness, in particular, even I sometimes find these advice too difficult to follow let alone incorporate in my everyday routine, regardless of the sources from which these advice come from colleagues, experts, scientifically based studies, popular magazines etc. However, I’ve noticed that all rules applying to healthy lifestyle have some things in common and that the very rules are simple, the only thing what matters is we need to stick to them and never give up. Healthcare nutrition, for instance, involves a lot of fruit and veggies, but other than that, we need to work out, be physically active on a regular basis and this needs to become a part of our daily routine. But, start with baby steps and don’t be afraid if you fall from time to time, the number of times you’ve gotten up is what counts and not the number of times you got knocked down.
Put yourself first
We know, it’s sinful thing to waste food, but that doesn’t mean you need to be a garbage can and eat leftovers of your household members just to live up to this rule. We are not even aware how much (excess) calories we bring into our body in that way without even being aware of that. One by one, and there you have it – a nice lifebuoy around your waist except this one slowly kills you instead of saving your life. And frustrations which come with excess weight? That’s a whole another story.
Don’t be afraid of eating fat
Of course, by this, I don’t mean any kind of fat, but those healthy, unsaturated fats found in nuts, olive oil, avocado and fish (salmon), flax seeds etc. Your entire cardiovascular system will be grateful to you.
Stop drinking calories!
The only beverages worth of our attention are coffee and tea, but without sugar, cream, and similar additions. As far as alcohol is concerned, limit yourself to one glass of red wine after lunch, but not more than that. In fact, the biggest threat for women comes from sweet drinks such as juices and soda which are loaded with sugar and empty calories. Cut them from your diet!
Use sunscreen products!
With the hotter weather being on its way, it’s time we start thinking about using sunscreen products, especially for face, shoulders and lips since the skin is thin there but also because these parts are mostly exposed to the sun, thus are more sensitive. Besides, sunscreen products do not offer just protection against both UVA and UVB rays but they reduce the risk of early aging and hyperpigmentation (which is actually caused by an overproduction of pigment).
Get that chocolate box out of your sight!
Our hard working day is finally over and it really put you to some trouble. And what is the best way to indulge yourself and raise serotonin levels than having some chocolate, ice cream or other unhealthy greasy snack? We don’t even notice how much of such food we take while watching TV for example. And the only right way to get rid of that nasty habit is to eliminate such comfort bad comfort food from your home to never even enter into temptation. One more thing, you’d better not watch life happening before your eyes, instead, start living one! Days got longer now so use that time to go outside for a coffee or a walk with your children to a park. You’ll definitively raise your serotonin levels and fell much happier and complete.
Ensure yourself enough sleep!
Hm… Yes, sleep is something we tend to ignore too much due to hectic life we lead. But, a good rest will ensure your body enough energy to go through your daily tasks without too much trouble. Busy women, in an attempt to please everyone, replace sleep with household chores, but this will surely reflect badly on their health. Sleep deprivation can take a toll on mental and cognitive health and increase the risk for diseases such as heart disease, obesity, depression and diabetes type 2.
