Many of us think of hot tea as a typical winter beverage, or something we need to drink when we are sick, and many would also find it a bit strange to see people enjoying ice cream in the winter.
Why should you indulge in a warm cup of tea in the summer, and eat ice cream in the winter?
Interestingly is that, actually, it is a far better choice to eat ice cream in the winter and drink warm tea in the summer. What happens is that ice cream is often wrongly regarded as the thing that makes a person get sick. However, this is nothing but a myth, since it’s a common knowledge that the cold, for instance, comes as the result of viruses or bacteria to which we are far more exposed to during winter because we spend much less time in the open.
When we eat ice cream in the winter, we adjust our body temperature to the surrounding, thereby reducing the possibility of experiencing the so-called cold shock on one side, while on the other side, microorganisms are particularly sensitive to the low temperature. For this reason, summer is a perfect time to sip a warm tea because not only you’ll adjust your body temperature to hot summer weather, but you’ll also reduce excess sweating. Warm green tea instead of coffee would be an ideal choice. Green tea is also very efficient when it comes to protecting skin from the sun damage caused by UV radiation because it contains polyphenol catechin. Besides, it will improve your work efficiency since it’ll keep you awake and focused in the same way as coffee does. Therefore, forget about the cold beverages, make yourself a nice, warm cup of tea and leave it to cool down to room temperature and enjoy!
