Both women and men today use numerous beauty tricks not just to make them look prettier, but to present in the best possible light.
Some of the earliest records on makeup use date back in the ancient Egyptian culture. At the time women mostly used dark green color of eye makeup and also darkened their eyelashes with kohl. Characteristic heavily-lined eyes were trendy back then as they are nowadays. In the ancient Egyptian culture this prominent look with eye makeup being the focal point of face was actually an homage to the God Horus. However, this look required a lot of effort and was time-consuming, so it could take up to several hours even. However, as the time passes, trends change, but what remains the same is the strong desire to improve our appearance through skin and hair care. Although most of us cannot, like Cleopatra, bathe in goat’s milk to make our skin radiant and beautiful, yet, with the help of makeup we can achieve nourished skin, provided we take a good care of our skin.
And how can we do that? First of all, once a week make a peeling of your skin. This will help remove dead cells from the skin which actually causes numerous skin imperfections. After peeling it will be much easier to apply foundation and it’ll also take less foundation to cover up your face without leaving your skin flaky and damaged. In fact, this will be the perfect way to apply your makeup enabling you to save money at the same time. Before foundation you should apply the right moisturizer for your skin type which will nourish your skin. After applying a moisturizer use a primer, the moisturizer will make primer application even and enable makeup to stay on longer. Now you can apply face powder. You can choose the right face powder shade with the help of few simple tricks. Primarily, forget about testing face powder color on the wrist of your hand as the skin there is darker than on the face. Instead, test it on the neck or cleavage. This will help you choose an ideal shade for you. A good shimmer will enhance your complexion. Mascara will make your eyes look deeper complementing the look you strive for. When it comes to lipsticks, for daytime look use a neutral color such as nude, but be free to use some bolder and darker colors for the evening looks.
And the last but not the least – the golden rule of skin care – remove your makeup before bed in order to allow your skin to breathe overnight after burdening it with the all-day makeup wear. Start at the beginning, first remove makeup with cleansing milk, then use a facial wash gel to cleanse your face and at the end gently apply a tonic. All being done, you are ready to have a night of beauty sleep you deserve.
