The wedding season is a period during which we are swamped with weddings. As soon as one ends, another one follows. You need to buy a new dress or a suit, new shoes, wedding gift and also have patience. Other than this to-do list for wedding prep, an especially awkward situation can be caused by relatives on a family wedding, a former love on your friend’s wedding or simply – an uncontrollable rush of emotions.
Wedding season – cash-strapped season
Wedding season can be a fun period, but it can also bring you to the verge of a bankruptcy. When it comes to wedding clothes, it’s best to combine. Buy a simple dress you can pair with more colors or wear with different types of jewelry. Sometimes a simple piece of clothes costs more money than extravagant ones. Yet, they are worth every penny. They can be worn on various occasions. If you are a guy, buy a suit that fits you perfectly, though, men don’t have as near as much problems as women do when it comes to clothes. Combine several shirts with a tie that will change your looks entirely.
Gifts can make you lose your nerves in addition to money. If you are a close friend of the newlyweds, perhaps it is the best you ask them what they need. However, if you don’t have money at the moment, you can use a credit card, but before buying check for the best offer or payment that is the most convenient for you. If you are not so close friend to a bride and/or a groom, remember that everyone likes to receive money. They’ll know what to do with it. However, this option may be problematic. Play safe. Top quality wine and wine glasses are an excellent gift. Dishes, a nice painting, silverware or a kitchen aid will surely find a place in anyone’s home. Buy whatever you think it’s useful and what you would like to be given.
What is s/he doing here!?
You look forward to this wedding. After all, you didn’t buy a new dress/suit for nothing, you’re ready for another wedding. And then it hits you. A guest this wedding couldn’t go without is – your ex. Firstly, calm down. New clothes will give you that million-dollars look and now it’s time to practice your reaction. You can do it before a mirror. How will you behave? What about your facial expression? Think through and prepare mentally for the encounter. The better you prepare, the easier will be for you to handle the situation. Though, let’s be real, it’s very likely you’ll dread the encounter. So prepare yourself and snap out of it. Look at things differently. Is there a better way to meet a special person than at a wedding? You can show yourself in the best light possible. Be brave and more charming than ever. Don’t let some once-special person kills your mood. Nothing will make you more attractive than an image of you having a good time.
Problematic relatives
As you’re getting ready for a family wedding you can already hear your annoying aunts asking you when do you plan to settle down. This is a situation which upsets you, not to mention it can bring you into despair. Have patience. Smile and convince them they have nothing to worry about since you know how to take care of yourself. Change the subject. Talking about the past is always a good way to distract attention. If they are persistent, raise another, completely unrelated topic which will distract their interest in the other way round. Don’t be rude. Ask them politely to stop talking about the things you are not comfortable with. Food talk is appropriate at any party. It is the inexhaustible source of comments.
Though wedding season can drain your nerves and a bank account, don’t forget to have fun. You’ve come to a place where the love of two people is being celebrated. Don’t be nervous or angry. Besides, if you’re single, you can meet someone. Let the wedding season be a nice memory, not a nightmare.
